wierd carb problems look inside
I am not sure what the deal is with my carb but here here goes. I went to the track last night and here is what happened. The first time I launched it bogged. I had a 74-83 jet combo, 35-37 squirters. I tried to run again and this time I spun the tires and it did not bog, then tried again and when it hooked it bogged. changed jets, squirters, up, down, and absolutley nothing changed. Not even my mph! Something wrong here? I have a 3800 9in stall with a 2.55 stator. in my th350. the best 60ft I could cut was a 1.88. the average was 1.91 1.94 wtf is that all about. The car was running 13.10-13.20 at 106mph If it hooked it bogged, if it spun it did not bog. If I shifted at 5600, 5800, 6000, nothing changed in the et or mph. The only thing that made a small diff was running 38 deg of timing versus 36. it picked me up 1 tenth. and thats it. tried 34 deg and it did not change either. this is wierd.

A couple of things to check would be the float bowl level because when you hook hard fuel may be sloshing out the vent tubes. Even if the levels are correct idling it may have to be lowered. The other thing to check could be the ignition system.
possibly low primary side voltage or even simple things like loose connections on anything.
good luck
