Holley 4160 600cfm...New Carb Need Help
I recently aquired this Emissions / Street Legal carb. It is replacing a old worn out Rochester Quad. I have heard both good and bad about the Rochester. I was wondering, fi anyone can give me some info on the Holley. Are Holley carbs really "that good"? Any and all help, including on installation and tuning would be greatly appreciated...Francisco

80452 is the # in question...
This is not a computer-controlled carb, so it's only 50-state legal on cars that didn't use a computer. That would not apply to any of these cars (3rd gen)
In order to use it, you will have to use a non-computer-controlled distributor.
It's not one of the "better" Holley carbs, as far as performance goes. In order to make those "50-state legal", they really nutted alot of things about it; most especially, its overall ability to flow fuel. Obviously the less fuel that gets fed into a motor, the lower its emissions will be; but also, the lower its power output will be (since power comes from fuel molecules). That one has the extremely lean idle & transfer circuits, the 2-stage power valve, secondary metering plate, etc.
That particular one also is a F*rd carb, listed for F*rd trucks. Don't be too surprised to find that you have linkage issues.
