Throttle cable to short to run spacer...ugh.
Throttle cable to short to run spacer...ugh.
Anyways, I recently put a one inch carb spacer on my t/a, equipped with a zz4 intake, ccc, and now a one inch open spacer. The throttle cable is like 1/8" to short, and opens the gas a little. I can kick the idle down by stabbing the throttle a few times, but most of the time it idles in the 1100-1500 range instead of the 600 range. Im gonna try a real stiff spring on the throttle return, because it should be able to pull it back. The choke was fully open and the car was warmed up when I tried it. Anyone else tried to run a quadrajet with a spacer on one of these? Any ideas?
Well, the spring fixed the idle speed, but now my gas pedal is super stiff. Oh well, if anyone has an idea on how to get an extra 1/8" out of a throttle cable let me know. thanks
I actually got rid of the spacer, made my low rpm driving kind of soggy and really didnt help the top end to much, that combined with the extra spring i had to use to return the throttle made it a lot less fun to drive.
