Setting idle speed on cc q jet

I know how to do it, but I was wondering if tightening or loosening the screws brings the idle up before I mess with it.

Turning the screw in speeds it up.

Ok, I started with 7 turns out because that is what was suggested(I think by five7kid, but not sure). I have tried anywhere from 5-9 turns out and it doesnt seem to idle high enough in open loop. I just want it at about 700. It idles about 700 after it hits closed loop but wont until then. Could it just be that my idle air bleed is to far off? How many rpms should it change per full turn?

Thanks

Ben

7 turns out was the suggested starting point for the idle mixture screws, not the idle speed screw.

You could hold the throttle in the position you want it and then turn the screw to contact it at that point.

It's been my experience that the idle air bleed doesn't make that much of a difference to keep the engine from idling unless it is almost all the way in or almost all the way out. Definitely adjust your idle mixture screws, they pretty much determine the idle mixture when the system is in open loop.

Oh, crap, I thought that those adjusted the idle speed. Ok, where is the idle speed screw. lol. I have the mixture screws back at 7 turns out and will probably get the dwell adjusted this weekend.

Mine takes a torx bit, and I use a 1/4 drive ratchet and an extension.
