should i clean out the carb first??

k i just posted something about my holley idleing really high but i was thinking the car has been sitting some time now and it ran fine before could it just be the carb needs cleaning?? with like some carburator cleaner spray??? or should i just play with that idle screw, because i have like no clue about carbs lol.
