Cant get it to stop stinking.

First time Ive had this problem. Car runs great good power decent economy 13 MPG city 16 on the road. Problem is the thing stinks at an idle. Its not terribly bad unless I'm stuck in traffic but... Ive tried 2 different carbs 750 and 600 holley just to see and still stinks. Ive also tried a couple of different tunning methods the correct way and the lets thin it out as much as possible and comp with more throttle opening. Both the carbs Ive tried like a very lean setting 3/4 to 1 full turn out. Idle circuts on either are stock and it doesent blow black at an idle just smells rich.

Any ideas before I get yelled at by people the drive through. lol

Edit: mods are dart heads 64cc and 72+ LT1 can 1.6 RR. the cam & heads are the only new mods.

Could be a minor fuel leak. Tank, lines , pump etc

Funny to see this back up again.

I did find a fuel leak on a routine mantinece check, fuel line on pump wasent terribly tight so screwed the clamp down fired her up and the weap hole on the fuel pump just starrted squirting fuel. Thats the raw gas smell, but still no change out the tail pipes. I'm fairly sure or at least going to blame my lack of tunnability on the intake I broke my action+ pulling the old engine (lift plate and aluminum manifold = bad) So I 'm just running a stock aluminum LG4 and plate so I'm changing that over in the next couple days. I'm probably going to slap the edelcrap on there too since my vacuum is fairly low with the LT1 cam and durring normal driving I constantly dip around and below 5in of vac.

Any time you have a return line system it needs to be vented.
