help...
#1 finally bought a vacuum gauge to tune the carb with, only showin 5 inches of vaccuum, no matter what, good indication of leak?
#2 put a fuel gauge in the line, seemingly getting 0 fuel pressure, but the float bowls aren't going dry or dropping either...the same gauge showed 8psi on my edelbrock, but the demon isn't getting pressure for squat. should i give in and get an electric pump? it's got a mechanical holley thats supposed to pump 80gph at 6psi right now...but apparently thats not entirely accurate
#3 i can't get the car to idle below 1200, i've got the idle speed screw all the way out, the throttle blades completely shut, what do i do? the exhaust smells good, so i don't really wanna mess with the jets...i dunno what power valve it came with, but due to the low pressure, is there a decent chance it's open all the time?
this is a 650 demon carb on a 355 with a 268H cam...nothin real radical

#1: More than likely a vacuum leak, where did you hook the gauge up?
#2: Zero fuel pressure implies that the fuel is not moving. Check your gauge to make sure it is working properly.
#3: Vacuum leaks usually cause this. Find and fix the leak and see what happens.

hooked the gauge directly to the carbs manifold vacuum port, i suspect the leak is probably the cause of the extremely loud whistling noise too
