How do i get floats unstuck?

How do i get floats unstuck?
I have a edelbrock 600 Cfm carb, and the floats are stuff...its shooting fuel straight up when i turn it over, everyone told me that was the problem. I know i need to take the little star like screws of the top, then what? explain in detail please or even pics. Thanks

I kinda sounds more like the timing is out rather than flooding. Did you recently install a camshaft or distributor?
