Carb issues

Im new in dealing with carbs, and it been giving me hell. I've finally got the start down (3 clicks then turn) but if I let the car sit still for more than I'd say 5 min, it will just cut off. Also from time to time, I've noticed that sometimes just after starting the car, if I try to lightly push the accelerate it will just bog down like it going to die, I have to slam my foot on the gas to make it go. If anyone can offer some help, thanks.

Oh by the way, I know the carb is a demon dp, I was told it was a 670 cfm from the guy I bought the car from, but I dont think they make one for that cfm.

Hook the choke up and use it.

When carburated cars are first started cold the fuel doesn't want to vapourize. Fuel injectioned cars inject extra fuel during warm up. Carburated cars use a choke to enrichen the fuel mixture during warm up.

F-bird 88 is right. This is a choke issue. Most likely the Demon does not have an electric/ automatic choke, but check your carb for a round black plastic cylinder a little larger than a silver dollar on the passenger side, since you question the previous owners integrity about the carb. If there is one there, it is probably bad and requires replacement. If it is not there, you should see what almost looks like another place to hook up your throttle linkage. This is most likely what you have if indeed the carb in question is a Demon. You will need to hook a choke cable up to this and route it inside the car so you can use it.

If it's doing this even when it's warmed up,
check the carb for flooding.
