Hi Tricki. You'll need a new intake, correct cfm carb, and a new fuel pump. The stock fuel pump on fuel injection is electric, and in the tank. The fuel pump on a carb vehicle is on the passanger side of the block. You will eliminate some wires in the process. As far as the mods you would have to make for the mechanicle fuel pump, I wish I could tell you. Hopefully someone could answer that for the both of us.

Don't need a new fuel pump, all you need is a mallory #4309 regulator. There are a few others that work, but it must be a bypass style or you will burn up your fuel pump.
You will also need a HEI vacuum advance distributor, check ebay or junkyards.

Advantages: More power, easier to mod engine, cleaner engine bay.
Disadvantages: Worse starting in winter, about 3mpg less in fuel economy.
