Kickdown Nightmare ! !
ok when i made the switch on my car i had a friend who was helpin me and that A-hole took all my linkages off without even thinking about them.... now i have no idea how close or far back my kickdown should be i know that whatever i have it at now is wrong... it won't kickdown... tranny is startin to slip i'm getting nervous...
i have no knowledge about the kickdown cable so i need some assistance... k lets say the cable is just sittin there not hooked up not being pulled and you put it on the braket (i have adjustable brakets now) and then you take the little black piece put the little bolt on it and you go to bolt it to the carb... should the cable once its hooked up be in the slack position like the black piece is tight up against the end of the cable but the cable isn't being pulled out at all.... or when that black piece is attached should the cable be extended more then it or should the cable be pulled out a bit once its all attached... i hope i'm making some sense to you all, i'm trying to explain this as best as i can...
also one more thing how do you set the kickdown cable or whatever once you have it mounted up... a friend of mine told me what he thought... and you pull the cable all the way out then hit the gas and it should click ??? well it didn't do diddily squat .... was there anything we left out while doing that....
SORRY for the lenght and going on and on but just wanted to make sure I gave you guys enough info to work with...
thank you and have a nice day !

With the engine off, push in the D shaped button, open the throttle as far as it will go, and with the throttle still open slide the toothed plastic piece that the cable comes out of as far back as it will go. Release the button and let the throttle close. There should be no slack in the TV cable at any time.
