Somebody posted a picture of such a setup several months ago. Should work in theory, but I'd think a dual snorkel would do better.

how about using a lt1 or ls1 aftermarket elbow? they make replacements for them does that mean the tpi setup is ok?

Like this?

Works fine, except this particular one picks up hot air, from right over the headers.

yea rb kind of like the one for the cherekee, but the tbi hat i have came from a cadillac. use that duct and connect it to the tpi setup. something different i guess. i'm getting a digital camera this week and if i can figure it out i'll take a pic

Yeah, I have one of those too (91 4.9) it's not TBI, but what you're talking about does go to the TB.

Can't see why it wouldn't work; but it would work better if it was installed like it is on the Cadillac, where it's CAI.

I've been toying with the same idea as far as the tpi and caddy tbi air cleaner goes. It sould work, however the problem I ran into is that 1) the caddy aircleaner is angled which makes it a little tougher to use a velocity tube (PVC pipe), and I'm not a big fan of dryer duct because of turbulance reasons. 2) I didn't have the hood clearence for it, maybe if I cut the louvers on the bottom side of the hood it would work. I'm thinking of just enclosing an open element and fabbing an opening on it.
If worse comes to worse, you could always use one of the Ramair boxes.
