305 build-up
I currently have a rebuilt 305 from a 1978 chev truck and going into an 83 trans am. I am wondering what I shoould expect powerwise. I have an edelbrock eps intake manifold and I am using stock heads that have been ported to match the intake ports through the means of felpro gasket90314-1. The deck has been shaved to get an extra point of compression bumping it up to 9.5:1.
-I Have a cam with 223/223 duration and .447/.447 lift(I,E)
-I also have 3.08 gears and 1 5/8 shorty headers.
What kind of power numbers should I see with this route?
around 15.2 in the 1.4 mile w/2800lb trans am?????

Probably not. Truck 305's had teeny valves. Although you gasket-matched the intake ports, it's going to be restrictive well before the lift you're considering.
Put some 416 or 601 heads on there, then you'll probably make your goal.
