Runnin Stock 85 LG4 Qjet on 350
hey i kno this is a hard question to answer but how much power i'm i losing buy runnin a LG4 qjet thats not cc on a 350 with 1 3/4 headers......i kno i need a new carb but don't have the money right now....and would a bigger carb make that much of a diffrence?

The carb is big enough, especially if you remove the little tang on the secondary air valve that limits its opening (if yours has that). A Q-Jet is "big" enough for motors well over 400 CID.
As far as whether your car would go faster, or whether your motor would produce more power with something else, that depends greatly on the rest of the setup. If you have typical old 70s smogger heads and 929 cam, then no, a carb won't do much at all. On the other hand, if you have Dart Pro 1 220s and a 265° solid roller, then maybe a step up would be a good idea.
Chances are, if you're short on money, a carb isn't the place where you'll get the most bang for the buck to make your car go faster.

A normal Qjet that doesn't have the limiter 'tangs' RB mentioned will flow nearly 800cfm... its big enough to feed a healthy big block.

i just put a 350 in my 87 that had a LG4. I haven't had any problems it bolted right up. The only thing you should do is rebuild, i didn't and ended up haveing to take it off and do it, metering rods were sticking.
