CC Carb acting up time for new one
My CC Carburetor has been acting like crap so I have decided to just junk it and get a Speed Demon 650 and the braided line kit. I need the 700R4 kick down bracket right? Whats a good cheap distibutor to go with in this swap part # will help if you have..

Speed Demon Electric Choke VS carb (I'll assume VS, since it's too much carb for your engine right now): $399.00
Braided line kit: $44.95
TV cable bracket: $17.95
Summit or Proform HEI distributor: $159.95
Torque converter lock-up kit: $76.88
Other things you'll think of or find out you'll need when you have it all apart: $25-$50
Do you really think your CC q-jet has problems that $723.73 (minimum - plus s/h) won't cure?

good choice on the demon selection... yes i'm pretty sure you'll need the kick-down bracket
Personally I think your best bet would go rob one from a junkyard and buy a new cap/rotor/plugs/plug wires/coil before u install it
Distribuators can be expensive and just a good ole fashioned stock one can be a good solution on a tight budget.

Yea that carburetor is too much for my motor but I plan on using this stuff in the future when I change to a 400 once it's done... Actually everything is 504 with S&H minus distributor. But the problem with my CC Carburetor it needs a rebuild last time I went this rout it cost me 360$ that’s almost a brand new carburetor!! I planed on ridding my self of the computer junk eventually so now’s a good time since I have the money from my tax refund. The converter lockup will probably wait till later cause reading the tech article and it said it was really not needed.
This distributor any good 88.95 + s&h

When I do this swap is there any thing I can rid my self of since I am ditching the computer? I really want to try and clean up the mess of vacuum lines under the hood. Like can i romve the vacuum canister on the drivers side? and the vacuum tree that sits infront of the carb? and it will still run ok?

Keep the vacuum canister. And, I assume you really mean the charcoal canister. Keep it, because it vents your fuel tank. You can get an older style that doesn't have the fuel bowl vent or fancy controls and eliminate that big valve in front of the engine.
The Performer EGR will accept q-jet spreadbores and Holley/Edelbrock/Demon squarebores.
