Replacing TPS. Anyone have instructions?
Replacing TPS. Anyone have instructions?
I am replacing the tps on my CC q-jet. I have a Haynes and Chilton's manual for my 87' IROC but they do not contain directions for removing the airhorn and so on..
Does anyone have rebuild instructions they can scan and email. I would appreciate any help. This is my 4th IROC, but 1st carbed, so learning is occurring.?
Thanks
Tim

The Haynes Rochester Carburetor Manual is very good. Getting it would be better than the specific instructions you're requesting.
Since you're taking the carb apart anyway, why not do a rebuild? The kit will have instructions that cover the TPS.
Out of curosity, why are you changing the TPS?

All you have to do is unscrew the top half of the carb, take it off and swap in the new TPS after removing the old one It just pulls right out. But yeah once you're in there you may as well do a rebuild while its apart. If you've never worked on carbs before it'll be tricky putting it back together so you may wanna have someone with experience help you out. I took my original carb apart after I got a rebuilt one and It's still in a million pieces.....
