tips for q-jet reinstall?
I just had my carb rebuilt, the gaskets were leaking and i figured it was about time to have her cleaned up.Im getting it back this afternoon.
My question is is there anything i should becareful of, and watch out for when reinstalling her. This is my first car and my first time really digging into a carburetor.
Any special way the gasket needs to be set? any kind of sealant? Any thing i should check while the carb isnt in the way?
just any general tips for reinstalling the Q-jet would be helpful.
thanks

Don't let anything fall into the engine while the carb is off.
Make sure the gasket surface is clean.
No sealant required.
Don't overtighten the hold-down bolts.

with the carb being rebuilt, are there any adjustment screws i may need to learn to use/ set?
if so can you either give me a brief location & overview or point me to a thread that has covered the subject.

You might want to get familiar with the idle mixture adjust screws.. they are on the bottom, one on left and right. You need a special tool to adjust them, but it only costs like $5.
I was too cheap to buy one though, so I made one out of a peice of speedo cable and 1/4" copper tube, LOL

I assume this is a computer controlled carb. If so, you shouldn't have to mess with the idle mixture screws unless you can't get the idle air bleed to adjust (you need a dwell meter with a 6 cyl setting to do that adjustment). Everything else except idle speed should have been adjusted during the rebuild.
