Do a search on Amazon.com or go to your local speed shop, for one by Alex Walordy, with "Holley Carburetors" in the title. IMHO it's the best one. It tells you alot more than Step 1, Step 2, etc.; it actually tells you how all the parts work.

If you're gonna do jetting buy the entire box of them. Its much cheaper in the long run. Buying a pack of 2 jets for $4-5 sucks when you're trying to figure out what works best. The best thing to do would be to downjet it by 2 sizes at a time and then run it down the street at full throttle then turn the car off and let it coast to a stop. Then get out and pull a few spark plugs. The goal would be to have light-brown / tannish colored plugs. Black is rich, white is lean.
Once you get the spark plugs the right color it should be very close to "tuned" ...now its time to go to the track and get it perfectly dialed in. Make a pass and then go up 2 jet sizes. Make another pass. Did the car's MPH increase or decrease? If it decreased its too rich, go back, if it gained MPH go up another 2 jet sizes until the MPH decreases, then go back to the jets that gave it its best MPH.
Remember MPH is the best indicator of horsepower. ET is just an indication of good traction and gearing.
