Stock Primaries?

How's everyone doing? Been a long time since I have posted a question on this forum.

I have a qjets that require the double taper primaries and a few years ago I bent the ones that came with it and just shoved a pair of single taper rods into the car I found, which worked for a long time. However, I finally want to find the correct rods for my car and get it running right. My question is should I go back to the stock primaries (carb #17059230) or should I get a pair that are slightly richer. I have a 305 with a Crane Cam with a 260/272 advertised duration with headers and a three inch exhaust. Any advise would be great. Thanx.

No reason to go richer if it was running fine as it was.

I'm with the kid on this one. Double taper rods are sorts "gimmicky" in my opinion. You'll never feel the difference between a single or double taper rod on the street.
