I think my Carb needs a rebuid, It hesitates a little, and stalls when cold, and there appears to be a dead spot.
I bought a rebuild kit, but I never rebuilt one of these puppies, and I have been looking on Ebay for a cheap used one I can practice on, and maybe use while I am rebuilding my original.
My original is model 1708-7130.
On Ebay I see a 1708-7131 and a 1708-6057.
Can I use either of these two Carbs on my 87 305 ?

The 17087131 is for 1987 Camaro/Firebird w/LG4 and manual trans. I don't know what the differences would be between that and the 17087130, but I suspect they'd be minor.
The 17086057 is for V6 applications and is definitely not what you want.

I would "practice" on your own carb. There is nothing about a rebuild that is not reversable, or readjustable. In addition, you won't know if you did it right until you put it on your car anyway.
