Simple Question

I'm new here and I got a quick question. I bought my car from a guy out in the boonies and i still have trouble idetifying the parts...i would really like to know what/where my carb came from and what kind of specs it has. The only two numbers i have been able to pull off of it are: 17083281 & 1113 FSL

If anybody could identify these for me it would be greatly appreciated.

I almost forgot it's a rochester quadrajet carb

The carb # will look somewhat like the first one; same number of digits, & it starts out with 1708. I don't reconize that # though.

Now if it was 17083201, that would be a carb #. It would be the typical LG4 carb in 1983. So if your new car is a 83, it might be the right one.

The carb # is stamped into the fuel bowl section, on a little flange looking part, right above the secondary throttle shaft, on the driver's side facing the front. It's vertically oriented. Any number that's cast in, is not the carb #; it will definitely be stamped.

As far as specs, it's a Q-Jet. Besides rebuild specs like float level and vacuum break settings and stuff like that, there aren't really any "specs".

Thats easy....is there a plug where two wires plug into on the top of the carb? If so then, well...its CC.
