I have ran holley carbs too, and without exception, have always been disappointed. BTW, Barry grant didnt just "copy" a holley. Take a trip down the internet and do some reading.

This straight from the shop that built and dynoed the motor in our S-10- "Every Demon we have put on the dyno experienced a high rpm lean condition" Later in our shooting the bull the owner came out and said he'd never sell a motor to anybody with anything but a Holley. Granted this is just one guys experience that does this everyday...something most of us cant say.

2nd bit of experience. Brother-in-law running a Race Demon and has had a few issues with it. Last outting he was changing jets and accidentally put some lateral force on the main body when re-installing the bowl, the main body came loose from the base plate so he had to take it completely off and retighten all the screws.

Barry Grant: Think what you want, try out their customer service when you have a problem with ANY of their products-nuff said!!

Comes down to it, Holley has just been around for so long they have alot of R&D plus real world experience which goes a long ways in anybodies book. Sure it's nice to go against the grain and run what other's dont to be different or try something new, but there is a reason most people buy the same product brand. I will say Demons sure are pretty, but I'll take the predictible easy to tune performance of a Holley anyday. Just my opinion though.

BG started at Holley. He thought he could make them work better, so he left and started a business making parts to make Holleys better. Then he thought he could make a better complete carb, so he did that. Seemed to have early success.

Personally, I think they've gone too far (Jr series, for instance), and spread themselves too thin. But, I know quite a few people running their products and love them (most purchased at least 2 years ago).

On the other hand, Holley seems to be putting out better stuff these days, too. I think they call that "competition" - when there is none, you slack off; when there is some, you work harder.

What the peak of irony. Because I state that I dont care to deal with a holley carb, would much rather work with my edelbrocks, I need to learn how to tune a carb. I'm not sure if you realize this, but edelbrocks need tuning too. YOu pretty well do the exact same thing with them that you do with any other carb. The funniest thing is, YOU are telling me to learn it. The person asking questions about his own carb that he knows nothing about. Good thing you got all that experience with harleys

So you run an edelbrock that would tell me that you are stuck in the stone age with a counterweight air valve secondary............I have not put a holley on either of my HDz but I have been thinking about a 390 cfm holley on my 65 PANHED that would be a real gas I do know how to go fasttttttttttt.......but then again I am not a fan of edelbrock either........not since my great disappointment with C3BX intake ...............i have some history with chevy engines from 283 SB thru 396 BB so I might not bee as dumb as I look........OH well My Mom told me to keep my mouth shut and be thought a fool rather than open my mouth and expose someone who might be.........and probably is............talk about irony

So I guess that means we won't talk about carbs anymore? Your educated response has proven what at first was just a guess.
