different q-jet?

If i find a cc q-jet that was not meant for my car, can i just replace the rods, hangars and do some of the other mods listed on the tech page? Or will i end up having to mess with the primary part of the carb to get it to run right, too? Any specific ones i should look for?

I plan on building a 350 with a Crane 2050 cam, World Products s/r torquers, and use my 700 R-4. The reason i need to get a new carb is because i had to jbweld the nut that screws into the fuel filter case, and put in an inline filter. (dont' wanna mess with that when i get the new engine in) Plus, it wouldn't pass tech at firebird raceway like that.

There weren't significant differences between computer controlled carb engines. Basic tuning should cover it.

Consider: GM's HO 350 Conversion Kit, which used the ZZ4 engine, used the same carb with rods/hanger change (and ECM/PROM - but that was more to make sure the lamer LG4 ECM/PROMs were covered than anything else).

Perhaps someday my combo will be atop a 350 shortblock. I don't anticipate any problems doing that.

cool, so basically a rod/hanger change and setting the air valve will cover it? should i get into the primary parts too?
