TBI to Carb?

Hey All,

I drive a TransAm with a 305 TBI. I recently bought a truck that is scrap however the engine has a 350 4bbl carb. Seeing as the engine is already carbed and I wouldn't mind to get out of the whole computer tuning stuff and go back to the mechanics of muscle cars...exactly what extra would I have to do to make the conversion?

There's a tech article about that on this board. Plus plenty of posts you could search on in this forum (including info from yours truly).

Your going to need a bypass style regulator, some extra hose,a bracket for your kickdown cable(or you can modify what you have like I did using sheet metal), and a torque converter lockup switch. I wouldnt use the carb or the manifold that comes with that engine unless there aftermarket if I were you. Also While the engine is out get a new cam a good set of heads otherwise your really not going to gain much power. Most old smogger 350's had less than 200 hp. Good Luck.
