Yea, another problem.

So to occupy time this holiday weekend I decied to swap another carb over to the truck I mean firebird (see sig)

This carb, I have had problems with in the past but they all were all worked out before I took the engine out of the bird it and it was running well, 750 VS Holley converted to electric choke, 50cc pump, notched floats, jet extensions, blah.

So I out it on start it up everything is fine, recheck the float level and adjust mixture for this engine. Idle is great a whopping 16in of vacuum @650ish RPM (N) which is 1in more then the 600 VS carb was pulling. I rev it up a bit to check things one more time before I get everything hooked back up and go for a test drive. It revs nice comes back down to idle then stumbles almost dies. Rev it up again same thing. Might have crap inside so I wing it and close the choke flap a few times in an attempt to clear the crap out. No change. I take it around the block just to see if it will clear up. Running with the pedal depressed or rolling in gear, runs fine a tad bit of a stumble 1/4 throttle still but it pulls out. Come to a stop after crusing it stumbles and dies. I start it back up and idles fine then go back home pull in the driveway take it out of gear and it stumbles and dies again. I start it back up and it idles fine again.

Any ideas before I pull it off again?

Yep did that and put the old Q-Jet back on. Noticed the POS rear float was getting a little high too when I pulled it back into the garage. Oh well got my nice uber soft pedal back again.
