Running problem need help ASAP

need help please

ok i switched the RS from TBI to carb

i used the mallory 3 port regulator and all

HEI from a 71 Nova

600 CFM Holley Carb

when its running it misses and pops out the exhuast (NOT Backfiring) just popping

i checked the plugs and replaced them cause i thought they may i have been fouled out

i double check the firing order as well

i am completly Stumped can anyone help??

Not sure about the problem, but that distributor sounds a little funny... since HEI didn't come out untill mid-74. Are you sure its an HEI, and not a points distributor?

Is it missing at idle speed or when you give it gas? Check your mixture. Mine did the same thing when it was running rich.
