seen that new plastic carb spacer?
Have you guys seen that new plastic (phenophalic or whatever) carb spacer made by spectre? I have always seen the ones offered by summit, but they are 90 bucks or more. This one by spectre is only $10. Does anyone have experience of wether or not the plastic spacer actually makes any difference on not heating up your carb? I have a metal spacer, right now, because I was pulled in by the spacer = more power theory.
Anyway, let me know what you guys think.

im running one of those on my new 350 rebuild. no problems with it. carb seems to run a little cooler, not hot to the touch like direct bolt up. as far as performance gain ? new rebuild nothing to compare it to.

I was just curious if it actually helped keep the carb cooler. I figured it would, but I have to check to see if I have clearance. I have the rpm air gap intake, and I am not sure if I can fit a 2 inch spacer, I think i have room for 1 inch though.

I've been running the pletonic spacers for years. When I had the mild 355 I tried the 1" aluminum spacer and when driving for long periods it would start to diesel and surge. After talking with a few fello races that had that same problem they switched to the plastic spacers and did away with those types of problems. I had the same results, switched to platic and it runs like a champ with no "heat soak" problems whatsoever.
