Idle Solenoid

My car is an 85 LG4, T5. Is the idle solenoid strictly for A/C and/or defrost? Is there a separate adjustment for curb idle?

It should be just for the AC. The idle adjustment for "normal" operation is via the spring-loaded screw on the driver's side of the carb.

Thanks, five7,

Any idea what the curb idle should be? Info on the underside of the hood indicates 1800 fast idle, then 700 or 800 (activated or deactivated whatever that means).

1800 is if you manually engage the fast idle cam while the engine is warmed up. This is adjusted using a screw on the passenger side, down low (hard to see sometimes).

800 should be with the AC on (adjust the solenoid pluger), 700 with AC off (adjust the aforementioned driver's side screw).

Whoa really? I never knew that... So you can pull up your fast idle cam and rev it to get it to stick on the top of the fast idle cam, then speed up idle to 1800RPM? That'll be a lower fast idle when cold though right?
