carb pass tech?

has anybody built a 383/carburator and have it pass emissions? i want the stroker but need it to pass tech too! the smog ***** here are tough...i just don't want the hassel of a computer and problems a fuelie presents. just ned to know if it's doeable.

Transmission: T-5 5 speed
If you are putting it in your 83 z28 then I don't think they would even sniff your car. I know that I have never had my car sniffed because it's over 15 years old. I just get the visual insp. I would check with the laws in New York before you go ahead. If they do check it you could always register it as a classic and do whatever you wanted to the car cause I don't think they would inspect it then. Just another option.

the smog ***** are prety tough here in nyc...i have to wait until it's 25yrs. old before it's considered a classic and even then it's still sniffed! got to move to a more mellow state.
