Sounds alot like my problem when i had 2 missing vacuum secondary lid screws (holds the spring in place and so on). Could not get them at a parts store, or any store for that matter. I was told that most screws used in Holley carbs if one is lost would have to be ordered from holley as the seem to be propreitary (ie only thier screws will fit). Easy solution is to go to a salvage yard. Find a holley carb. pull 2 screws (or however many you need) out of the carb. and be done with it.. it is alot less hassle, and alot quicker to do, than to try ordering through holley, and then waiting for the things to arrive. (Going to the salvage yard is what i did.. I was happy to find Half a bus stacked need deep in holley carbs.)
