which vac line to run heater actuators

I have the problem where the air only comes out of the windshield defroster vents. I know that the problem is that I don't have a vacuum line hooked up to it. I know where it need to hook up to.

What I need to know is if there is a specific port that I need to hook the vacuum line up to?
And, do I need to use the vacuum ressivour (sp?) or can it run straight of one of the vacuum ports.

Carb is a Holley 770 Street avenger. Just need to know which port will work for this.

Thanks

Hodge

On my 86 there is smaller black vacuum hose that runs through the firewall near the distributor. There should be only two hoses that are visible on the firewall, one for the washer and one for the vents. Hook the hose up to your full manifold vacuum port on the bottom front of your caburetor. Give it a test and it should work, if you need some pics I can you get you some tomorrow. Good luck

I don't have that line through the firwall at the moment but I know where the T-fiting is IN THE CAR that it needs to go to. Just wasn't sure which port on the carb to use. This is the first carb I've had so I'm not sure which one you mean "full vacuum"?

I have:
1. The large one on the back which runs the brake booster
2. The ported one on the metering plate that runs the vacuum advance distributor
3. The one I'm running the PCV on. I think it's on the front, can't recall right now
4. a small one on the front pass side corner that is plugged off at the moment.

Again carb is a 770 Street Avenger.

I'm going to try #4 again but if that doesn't work, what should I do?

Thanks

Hook the hose up to the plugged off port that you have on the carb. This is what I have mine hooked up to and it works. Also double check and make sure that the check valve (think thats what it is) is not broken or leaking. Mine was broken and I didn't find it for sometime. If all that is in order then there should be no problems. If you still have issues I'll take a pic of mine and post it here. Good luck

Thanks man,
I should get to it in the next few days. it's cooled off a bit now so I can live with it coming out at the windshield but when it's really hot that just doesn't cut it.
