need help carb wont fit

need help carb wont fit

hey do any of you guys know what this plate is that is hitting the carb the engine is a 72 olds and the carb is an edlebrock electric choke 650 double pump i got a good size spacer on it but it hits something on the intake. the intake is a proformance intake from edlebrock. do i need a bigger spacer or what?
please help

Looks almost like a divorced choke block-off plate, but that's just a guess.

Bingo. That's an Edelbrock intake? Looks like a stocker from the pics. I didn't think the Edelbrock intakes had the place for a heat choke...

so what can i do because my carb has an electric choke so do i need a new carb or can i take the plate off or what?

Gonna have to get another spacer, or switch to a holley, or get another intake. Can't take that plate off, it goes into the exhaust crossover...
