street dominator intake manifold

just recd my intake manifold from summit, ordered holley street dominator 300-70 and recd 300-36 instead.

will the 300-36 work with cast iron 87 up heads.
holley says it is for 87 up aluminum heads

should i send it back to summit and have them send what i ordered the 300-70 (87 up cast iron heads)

i have cast iron l98 heads on the motor now and really dont want to send the part back unless i have to. will this one work on what i have

thanks for replies

they can be modified to fit, but they may not seal properly. i would send it back and have them send you the right part for the later model heads. that is an excellent intake by the way. my father and i are both running that intake and i really like it alot! my 305 has gone 13.70 and my fathers 355 has gone 11.78 with this intake and no port work done! straight outta the box!

Send it back and get the right one. Call customer service first, they should pay shipping back (and charge nothing more to send the right one).

They sent me the wrong pistons earlier this year. They offered what I said above, but the block was already at the machine shop when the error was discovered. So, they charged me for the parts only, then refunded parts & shipping when the wrong ones arrived back to them.

cool thanks for the info, I called summit last night and they shipped out the right manifold today. They said since the wrong part was in the right box they would 2 day air another manifold so I would get it by the weekend.

It seems like quite a few people are running this manifold and seem happy with it. I am switching over from tpi and cant wait to see how big of a difference it will be.

I would love to see high 11s with this set up, but I think I will still have a way to go.

Thanks again for the replies.

Sounds like they treated you better than they treated me. Must be all that money they gave me last year.

You didn't say anything about the box being right and the part wrong. In my case, they simply pulled the wrong parts. In your case, they were victims (unless they're reboxing parts), in my case they were the perps.

Oh, well, all's well now.

well just recd manifold #2, box came in and is marked hly300-70. opened it up and instructions say hly300-36. manifold is stamped 300-36. Am I confused and have the right manifold or did Holley missbox another manifold.

I am fixin to freak out on a poor summit guy or lady.

Can anyone that has 300-70 manifold verify the part # on their manifold before i call summit for a third manifold

and I think its possible summit may have misslabeled the box cause it is thier hly300-70 part # sticker on the outside of the box. They also stuffed all the stickers/flyers/invoice and 5 catalogs inside the holley box

You should be able to tell if it's the right one by the bolt pattern.

If it isn't, perhaps it's time to freak out to a customer service supervisor.

what carb are you using with this? I have an edelbrock 1405 ontop of a street dominator, I think mine is a 300-38 not sure, and I have clearance issues
