Car is hard to start

I moved to Las Vegas from Wisconsin in August. Ever since, my 1980 Z28 Camaro is hard to start. Is there any adjustments that I need to make being in a difference climate. Or can someone tell me what the problem could be? I think it may be a carburetor problem. Let me know. Thanks!

LOL, Well my first thought reading this was
" Well It's alot colder in Wisconsin then it is in Las Vegas"
and to be honest, that is probably most likely what it is. It's alot colder there, probably more so now then when you moved there.

Welcome aboard.

What kind of carb set-up do you have on your car? Need to understand that before any help can be offered.

(For the record, the Board owner wants to keep discussions to 3rd gen f-bodies. We can look the other way when the topic isn't specifically about a 3rd gen if it relates to set-ups that members may be running in their 3rd gen. For instance, I can talk about the 750 Proform double pumper carb on my 396 in my '57 Chevy if it relates to something a member is experiencing with a similar combination in their 3rd gen, etc. Just so you'll know...)

When its cold out its harder for the fuel to vaporize so it can mix with the air. So to start a carborated car easier in winter it is necessary to have a richer mixture on startup. To accomplish this try pumping your gas pedal once. See if that helps. If not, next time you try to start it, try twice. Every car is different. Youll just have to find out what works for your car.

he now lives in las vegas, not wisconsin. so it's warmer out now, i'd try checking your plugs for color and then tune from there.

cars in 'high altitude' locations,
can have too much 'choke effect''.

manually, force the choke open a bit,
when starting,
see what happens
