TBI to Carb... help please:
I am wondering what modifications will I have to make to go from TBI to carburated. This is on an 89 RS with a 305. Also, any recommendations on which carb to go with? Any help would be appreciated... thanks.

Check the links in the sticky https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=101977 above.
Check out both the EFI to Carb and TPI to Carb links. Converting from TPI to carb is the same as converting from TBI to carb - the only difference is what you take off.
You may need to get a better in-tank electric pump, from what the TBI guys say. However, it may be fine.
What kind of carb? Well, what kind of driving will you be doing? What else will you be doing to the car (exhaust, cam, heads, air cleaner?)?
In general, a 600 CFM carb will feed most any 305. Edelbrock Performers are probably the cheapest and easiest to get running. Holley & Demon carbs are plentiful. Q-jets are the best street performance carb you could ask for.

fuel line questions while converting
Hi, my name is joe and i recently sold my 1990 rs, for a 1992, by buddy has a stock 350 for me for 100$, cant go wrong, but i want to make this carbed, i was wondering if fuel lines would need to be swaped, and if so, is this a big chore, thanks for any help you can provide, Joe
No, not really, I cut into the factory flex lines over on the driver's side frame rail. Cut into them, installed a union (double ended brass barbed fitting) extended the lines up to the fuel pressure regualtor that I mounted on the driver's side strut tower (Mallory 3-port). Did this for both the feed line (larger 3/8" line) and the return line (smaller 5/16" line). Everything stayed tucked over by the strut tower. From there one final line was run from the regulator over to the carb on the engine. It was a fairly clean install (I've seen much cleaner, through) and definitely hassle-free and minimal cost.

Just did this on my 92. Damon's route is much easier! I dropped the tank, took out the in tank electric, extended the pickup appropriately and reinstalled the tank. Then I removed the inline fuel filter back by the rearend for 6" rubber line after giving the hardlines a little bit of flare. Next I cut the hard lines on the frame rail as they exit the tranny tunnel for the engine bay. I put new fittings on and used a connector to junction between two double flare fittings and extended the lines. I bent them to run on top of the cross member up to the block mount pump. Not easy with engine installed!!
