vacuum line question

im putting in a new carb. this carb has more vacuum ports than my old one. i just wanted to know if they were any side effects to not using some of them or hooking a vacuum to a different port. ie: the input for the brake vacuum is odd shaped and it fits better on the one claimed to the pcv valve. Is mixing and matching lines alright or am i going to cause problems for myself??

what carb?

Should be ok, as long as vacuum is the same (manifold/ported). Measure the vacuum at the ports you want to swap, to be sure. Plug the rest of the ports.

what carb would be a good question... because then you would be able to know exactly which ports were for what, and it would probably make things easier on you.. you just use the ports you need (and what they are for) and put caps on the rest..
