what ignition system should i get for my carb conversion
i'm sadly giving up on tbi mostly because i dont have the time to properly tune a tbi, and obviously the experience, carb i do have some exp., not saying carb is easy to tune. i've basicly got all the parts but i'm looking at ignition systems and i dont know with what to go with, also because my system is comp controled i dont know exaclty how to convert my harness to run a non cc ignition, do u guys know if theres an aftermarket kit to convert my harness or maybe i can cut and splice the original harness
i need some feedback from u carb guys on what i should get, for carb i have access to an edelbrock, they r easy to tune but not as performant as holley
so is ti worth gettin a holley over edelbrock, to be honest when i'm done modding my 305 i dont think i will have anything close 300hp at the crack,
so should i go edelbrock for easy tuning, will it do the job, oh yeah the carb is off a 1977 cutlass 350 ( dont know the cfm, hope its 650, its a vacuum secondary and yes its brand new )
for intakes i beleive the factory intake is good enough, or is there a better
* cheap * replacement out there, like the zz4 intake or maybe weiand
plz tell me about ur setup, or ur conversion from tbi to carb, i'm doing this summer so i would like lots of feedback

It's easy to convert from a factory divorced-coil (computer controlled) HEI to an earlier in-cap non-computer controlled HEI. There is a 2 wire plug coming out of your wiring harness going to the coil (NOT the similar 2 wire connector from the coil to the distributor). One is a larger pink wire and the other is a smaller white wire. Pink goes to the 12V+ connector on the early HEI distributor, white goes to the TACH connector. Just clip off the coil connector end, extend the wires, put femal blade-type connectors on the ends and plug them in to the earlier distributor. You're good to go- the factory tach will even work!
