A few random questions.

Like the title says, I've got some questions that have been nagging me for the past few years since I've put the 350 in my car.

Are these engines supposed to sit crooked in the frame? Mine sits ever so crooked that I can't use a 14" air cleaner. And the hole in my cowl hood isn't big enough to allow for this "crookedness." How can I straighten it out?

Are edelbrock street mechanical fuel pumps supposed to leak oil? Mine lets oil seep from the vent hole in the side. Edelbrock says its normal, and to correct it, I need to install an internal boot.

Anyone else have these issues?

Also, do 2.73's really suck that bad? What kind of 1/4 improvement will I see going from an open 2.73 to a 3.73 posi? Im running a 14.93 @ 91.5 now.

crooked?

No, you engine should not be crooked. You may want to check you motor mounts.

Don't know about the pump, but it makes no sense that it "is normal" to leak oil.

Definatly agree on both accounts. I would also check to make sure the k member is bent. The leak shouldnt be normal.

Definently agree with checking motor mounts and that the fuel pump leaking oil shouldnt be normal. I dont know the actual numbers but you would definently see some improvement with 3.73 gears.

Make sure your motor mounts are in correctly - mine (poly mounts) had tabs that were angled - if I didn't have the angle right, the motor didn't set right - the motor actually rests on these tabs - they set in cutouts on the clamshell - the bolts that go through don't support the motor on mine.

I have a Performer RPM (same height as the Air Gap) intake and carb. with a 2.5" element under a stock hood.
