Several ring terminals in wiring harness -- ground to engine?
Hi guys, I am officially done with my 1983 v6 to V8 swap except for having to go scavenge a few ecm pins from the junkyard tomorrow so I can add a few things to the V6 harness that was not originally there. The V6 harness has a whole bunch of ring terminals all in the same place on the driver's side of the wiring harness. They fit around a 3/8" bolt and are with the engine sensor wiring. I think these all were grounds, is this the case? Thanks!

Yep--I usually ground them to an intake stud or a bolt threaded into the back of the head.
At least they were grounds on mine... 84 2.8L->5.7L swap.

The factory grounds them to a stud in the back of the driver's side head. You can ground them anywhere that is convenient. I HATE ground connections to the back of the head because they are so easy to miss. I usually extend the wires a little, connect them to a common ground terminal and bolt it to a convenient bolt hole on the top of the intake near the distributor.
Watch for other ground connections to the back of the PASSENGER side head, too. Computer controlled 3rd gens have grounds all over creation.
