Car: 1989 Iroc_Z
Engine: 350 TPI
Transmission: 700r4
I thought so. Someone told me all I needed to do was unplug the ecu and make sure I had all the right sending units hooked up. Oh well. Ill just stick with FI.
It really is quite easy.
You can virtually eliminate all of the wires coming from the passenger side of the car into the engine compartment except the light green and dark blue one that goes to the transmission back up light switch. Everything else is not needed.
The positive coil wire, the tach, heater, lights, etc come out of the bulk head connector on the drivers side. When I did mine I searched this site and found a pin our diagram for that connector. With that diagram you can wire everything the way it needs to be.
To make things even simpler I removed the electronic fuel pump and extended the pick up in the tank to use a mechanical fuel pump.

But it is a lot more complicated than just unplugging the ECM.
