non-cc q-jet baseline for new motor

I'm using the same non-cc q-jet I used on my old LG4. It has 72 primary jets, 43k rods, DR secondary rods, and an L hanger. I just ground off the secondary air valve stop. I've got the idle screw and mixture screws the same as before with the LG4.

New motor is a 355, 227/234 cam with .521/.535" lift. Ported 416 heads, heddman shorty headers, edelbrock performer RPM spreadbore intake.

-question, is this a good starting point for the carb for the new motor?

I'm trying to fire up the car to break in the cam, and not having much luck (thinking I flooded the motor, check tech forum for my post on that...).

Thanks

ok, got the motor to fire up, but I can't get it to stay running. I'm going to be using a lot of initial timing, but I still can't get it to stay running....

anyone with clues? I'm going to drill out my idle mixture screw holes, to say .090", and maybe put a hole or two in my primary throttle blades. Then i'm going to step up to 75 main jets, and go from there...
