Air cleaner with a holley 4160

Can someone tell me which air cleaner will fit on to a holley 4160 with a hei dist.
The 14 inch cleaners i have tried hit the side of the carb. when i bought it, it had a knotch cut out to make it fit. A 9" will fit without hitting but i want something a little bigger, pref. a K&N.

The cervini 3" cowl will be going on when i paint it for extra clearance.

Thanks

K&N - short for "an expensive airpath to flow lots of air & dirt into your engine". . .

If you're going with a 3" cowl hood, you can use a non-drop 14" air cleaner which won't touch anything but the air horn of the Holley.

Look for the dropped base 14x3 sets at just about any parts store... if its got the two big indentations accross from each other, on either side of the 5-1/8" carb neck, then it will work for your Holley. Every one I've seen was like that.

I am using the 14x3 with a 1-1/2 in drop. It has the two indentations that Air_Adam referred to. It fits about any Holley carb!

with a 4160 and hei dist a drop base won't work at least not on my car since you have a cowl hood just use a non drop base should work fine

Did you mean the air cleaner was hitting the side of the distributor?

I am running an hei distributor and the drop base cleaner doesnt hit my dissy but if you are having trouble with that than I agree since you have a cowl hood just put a regular air cleaner on and forget the drop. You should be able to run a 14x3 that way.
