Loosing mileage/ Torque Converter

So I've read here and there that if I switch from TBI to carb I will lose 2-3 mpg. Then sitting in my mechanics shop I read that if you tune a carb correctly you can gain the same MPG as TBI. Is this true? If so how easy is it?

Also i plan to switch to carb when i drop my 350. Could someone please link a good intank electric carb fuel pump and a torque converter kit to fix that problem?

The article should have told you what they went through to get the "same mileage" as EFI. I saw a similar article, not sure it was the same one you saw, IIRC they said "EFI-like" economy. They went extensively into carb circuit modifications to get what they claimed, which, of course, was a stacked deck - to be able to get the same mileage as a TBI car, driving it exactly like the TBI car is driven, is a pipe dream. And they had high-tech tuning equipment to help them accomplish their objectives.

A good in-tank electric carb pump is any good in-tank electric pump. I hear Walbro mentioned a lot.

Go to Summit Racing - High Performance Car and Truck Parts | 800-230-3030 and search on "torque converter lock up". Several kits will pop up.

i got 23mpg average on a 900 mile road trip over memorial weekend. that was w/ lockup, and averaging 80MPH on the highway too.

...i'm sure my 2.73's helped a lil in that equation though.
