Getting fustrated

I Just bought a remanufactored Q-jet for my 84 camaro..... its now a 5.7 liter but it used to be a 5.0.. My problems were that i couldnt get it to warm up right i will probably have to adjust my choke thermostat....... and then when its finally warmed up i cant seem to get it to stay at a specific idle speed it seems to jump around alot.........

for instance i will have it at about 75 and then i will rev it up a little bit expecting it to drop back down to were it was but for some reason it will stop at 100.......... back and forth

also when i have it in park and say its about 150 rpms.... if i shift into drive it will drop a bit to about 90....... its weird

also i wanted to ask if the air fuel mixture would have something to do with this because my left mixture screw poped out and i put it back in.....

can someone please help me out a lil bit???????????????????????
