Any specific brand of carberator you are thinking of using? You will get many varied opnions on which brands but I personally like Holley. You would have 4 bolts to mount it to the intake. You will have your idle adjustment, depending if its a double pumper or not you will have either 2 or 4 air/fuel adjustment screws and 1 or 2 float adjustments. I think Holleys are very easy to tune but thats cause they are all I have ever used.

Thinking about converting to carb?
Converting from one fuel supply system is another can be more complicated than you may be aware of. There are several other systems that will be effected once you start going to non-cc parts (Tranny Lock-Up, Dizzy, Emissions, etc.). Make sure you are aware of ALL the potential problems/ramifications BEFORE you start. Prepare a relatively complete game-plan and set aside sufficient $$Cash$$ to complete the project.
Some folks around here have converted from another fuel intake system to carb only to find they would have been better off spending their money on another type of performance adder (Exhaust System Upgrade, Mild CamShaft).
Just my
Sincerely,
Kurt

holley's are really nice carbs, they take a little bit to get used to to tune them. If you want a simple bolt on, and easy to tune. Get the Edelbrock Performer.
