Throttle Cable Length?

What is the throttle cable length needed for a V-8 carbed engine.
The reason I'm asking, is that, I used to have a TBI and now have a carbed system. My cable is frayed and I want to replace it. I was looking and found that they make a 30" cable and a 44 1/2" cable. The 44 1/2" cable seems like it would be too long. Is the 30" the correct length?

Thanks!

Not sure, but you could also look it up by application. Just look for a cable for an 85 Camaro with the 305 V8 and 4bbl carb.

When I converted by 92 TBI Camaro over to carb the stock throttle cable was also a bit long for use with the 4bbl (depending on which bracket you use- I made mine fit) but I don't think it was anything like 14" longer than a stock 4bbl cable.

I bet the 44" unit is for a TPI engine with the TB way at the front of the motor.

Damon,
Thanks! I just ordered a 30" cable.
The 44" cable looks like a snake on steroids, under my hood.

Thanks again!
