Fuel Or Engine Problem?

Im having some trouble with my 1983 camaro z28. When the car is going down the road and when u try to accelerate its liek it has no power at all. i can evewn put it to the floor but its like bouging down and slows even more. Could this be a fuel Problem or A did the car jump time on me? The car has a 4bbl carb and the choke was not stuck closed or anything. Thanks

Could be a fuel problem. Have you replaced the fuel filter lately?

How long since the ignition (plugs, cap, rotor, wires, etc.) have been replaced?

they actually havent been changed for a long time, and i know it needs some, but i dont think they are bad enough to run liek they are, i had a friend turn the distrbutor a little and it ran fine, but later on went back to running like crap, he says he pretty sure she jumped time on me, im just gonna buy everything from fuel filter dist. cap, wires, plugs, and new timing chain and gears just to be sure

i just did a full tune up, new cap, rotor, plugs, wires...i also checked the timing gears..the marks line up..we turned the distibutor, and it an fine but out of no ware it starts doing the same thing again im changing the fuel filter and fuel pump next, it seems like a timing problem more than a fuel problem.
