It depends upon what all else you did, but leaving it in should keep the fan & pump working, but the TCC lock-up won't.

I've done a lot of wiring, but I've never personally done the EFI to carb swap. So, anything I say is parroting what I've heard around here. The EFI to carb tech article mentions the TCC lock-up not working, but doesn't say the pump or fans won't work. It also doesn't say anything about removing unused harnessing. From what people have said on the forum, what I said should be true. However, if you remove any more stuff, especially the ECM, you're probably going to have to do a lot more rewiring. For instance, the in-tank electric fuel pump has two power sources - a timed relay that powers the pump for a few seconds when the ignition is first turned on, and a circuit that goes through the oil pressure sender/switch. I discovered when having ECM power issues with my '91 Bonneville last year that the timed relay didn't get power if the ECM wasn't working properly - I've heard similar things about 3rd gens.

Wiring can be intimidating, but it doesn't have to be. Mostly it's a matter of tracing down wires that form the path that does what you want done - keeping track of one or two wires in a bundle of 50 or more is a pain, but relatively straight-forward brain-wise.
