running rough
Just trying to get a little input on a small problem im having, my car is non cc hei with a holly 650, here is the problem at initial acceleration it wants to hessitate for a second then accels fine, then at top end it wants to bog and fall flat on its face, runs strong and as long as the acceleration is ssmooth and constant I have no problems but if I get in it when the r's get around 4-5 grand it bogs I let off and then get back in it and it goes away??? any ideas? its not stopping me from driving but it really sucks when I wanna get on it a bit and it falls flat, additionally it does not do it in 1st gear I can burn the rubber off the rims and its fine only when its in 2nd (sometimes),3rd, and 4th is when it happens all the time.

Exactly what type of Holley 650?
Most likely you have two unrelated problems. The first is an accelerator pump issue, either not big enough, not quick enough, or not long enough of a shot.
The other problem is a classic fuel starvation issue. Either clogged fuel filter, or failing or otherwise inadequate fuel pump.

its a 650 dual feed not exactly sure what the numbers are on it, didnt think about the fuel filter it has what appears to be an everyday fuel pump mounted on the block, which brings me to my next question my car is an 87 I was under the impretion that this car would have a electric in tank pump? I dont hear anything running in the tank so if it has one it is deffinatly disconnected if thats the case will that hinder overall performance of the fuel system?

Is the carb a mechanical, or vacuum secondary type?
I assume you don't have a problem coming off-idle under "normal" driving.
mech secondaries on the carb and your assumtion was correct if i drive like a normal everyday housewife its fine but if I drive it like I stole it then the problems start, agian the car runs great and considering what it was when I got it I am very pleased, I think I have finally got a good setting on the mixture screws and the timing may not be perfect because I have yet to put a light on it but it must be pretty close because the car pulls pretty hard when I get in it. so should I drop the tank and pull out the old pump and just use the engine driven pump or would I be better off replacing the in tank pump and getting a block off plate for the engine drivenpump?

Either get the pump out, or get it operating.
If you use the in-tank, you don't have to eliminate the mechanical. A pusher electric feeding the engine-mounted mechanical is a good combo, actually. Just be sure to use a return-style regulator if you use the in-tank electric.
