650 CFM Speed Demon

Hey all, OSS here;

About a week or so, I purchased a Speed Demon on ebay for my '83Z. Once it arrives sometime this week, is there anything I should look over? I read on a few places that Demon carbs sometimes are shipped with metal shavings inside still :S

Just be wary of leaking at the fitting threads. Friend of mine had an issue with his demon on his Chevelle and had to go back and teflon everything again.

No leaks on mine but yeah, metal shavings in a brand new 500 dollar carb didn't make me happy. Basicly just tear it down and give it a once over to check on stuff. Check for metal shavings in the vents too, both mine had it from when the tubes were pressed in.
